The Carbon County Suicide Awareness Coalition aims to educate the community about suicide, prevent and reduce the number of suicides and suicide attempts, and help alleviate the traumatic after effects of death by suicide for surviving family members and friends. We aim to increase awareness, decrease the stigma associated with suicide and suicidal thoughts, promote suicide prevention and provide support for those affected by suicide.
Four main goals:
1. Increase awareness and knowledge in our community
2. Educate and identify resources
3. Bring other people to the table; these meetings are open to the public
4. Reduce the stigma that surrounds suicide and suicide survivors in order to increase help seeking behavior and promote prevention strategies
